The company

THE COMPANY

The company is mainly dedicated to the production of Glera grapes, suitable for the production of Conegliano Valdobbiadene DOCG. It extends for about 14 hectares in the hills of Confin, a small town near Vittorio Veneto.

History

The “Tadio” farm itself has a very short history: born in January 2020, it is a young startup grown from a family business that has lasted for generations. It is in fact the natural development of the patient and tenacious activity of a family that has always lived on the land it works.

The family business was founded in the late 1960s by Grandfather Anteo, “Teo Tadio” to his friends. At the beginning the company was very varied, there was a stable of dairy cows, poultry, and most of the land was dedicated to arable land while only a small part was reserved to the vineyards, of which Nonno Tadio was very proud.

He was one of the first supporters who, in 1968, signed the petition for the national recognition of the denomination of Prosecco DOC (which later became Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG in 2009).

Over the years, the company has evolved, through the work of the youngest son Pietro, changing from animal husbandry to viticulture entirely.

Today

Now Carlo, the youngest grandson, takes the first steps with it towards the transition from viticulture to winemaking. It is however Monica, Carlo’s mother, who has most strongly supported these improvements and transformations ever since the 1990s, when she came to the family marrying Pietro. From the very beginning she understood the potential of the family lands, sensing the path that should be followed to enhance them and encouraging each further step forward. Her dream, now shared by all the family, was of not just growing grapes but also producing wine and then having people over to taste it under a beautiful “frasca”.

What could be better than a glass of Prosecco Superiore D.O.C.G “Tadio” while enjoying the spectacular cultural landscape of our territories, a World Heritage Site?

The young Carlo Casagrande takes up the challenge and says:

“Growing up I made my mother’s idea my own and in 2020 I decided to throw myself into this new fantastic adventure! For now I limit myself to the vinification of a small production of my own, but over time I aim to make it grow more and more, along with many other projects.”

So stay tuned, for there is much to come!

The name and the coat of arms

When it came time to choose the name and logo of the company, we decided we wanted to honor both the bond of this enterprise with our family history and the innovative contribution of Carlo’s mother.

After long discussions, we settled on the name “Tadio”, the historical nickname of our branch of the Casagrande family and the name by which our family is known in the area.

The logo is instead a tribute to the name of my mother’s family of origin: the Gallo.
